Sooo Neen how can you have a blog for over a year and not even write anything, what’s up?
Okay you got me! *hands up* here is my confession. Honestly, who knew it would be so hard to write something that others might read? Did you guys know that? And If you did how come you never felt the need to let me know?! I commend all those bloggers and even vloggers who can post content full time for a living, that’s a true talent. As for me, every time I thought of even writing something that could potentially be read by others I immediately would get writers block. For me that came as a surprise because I love to write! If I may be transparent for a moment, I believe that I had such a hard time because I was constantly thinking of my inadequacy. Who am I to share my voice? Will my words inspire? Will anyone ever read it? How many of us have these same thoughts when It comes to pursuing a dream we have, thinking it’s too farfetched to be an attainable goal. I believe we have so many hidden talents because we are afraid to share them. FEAR is crippling. I just want to encourage someone, Don’t Give Up. You must start somewhere no matter how great or small the scale, to try is to succeed. If you truly have a craft that you love and it brings you a sense of happiness, then Go for it. Don’t think of everything that can go wrong, just focus on how it makes you feel. Release for your Relief. This may never reach thousands of people and I am okay with that. Once I took that pressure off myself I was able to actually focus on what it is I hope to accomplish. So even If one person can see this and is encouraged I have contributed to making a positive difference in someone’s life other than myself. I want to leave you with the words that spoke to my feeling of Inadequacy and freed me in a sense, A poem from none other than Marianne Williamson:
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our Deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
